Therapy with KP
I believe deeply in the power of connection and relational work. I bring my own personhood to therapy so that I may actively strive to be a more anti-racist, intersectional, LGBTQIA+ affirming, neurodivergent affirming, disability justice oriented, and trauma-informed therapist.
I primarily work from a narrative therapy and emotion focused therapy lens. I feel passionate about working with people in periods of change, exploration, and processing of complex trauma. I enjoy working with individual adults and couples (including those in non-monogamous relationships), who are also often neurodivergent and LGBTQIA+. I’m especially interested in expanded support systems and chosen families.
I obtained a master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy at East Carolina University in 2019 and I have been conducting therapy since then.
Fun Info
-
I have a three-legged pitbull pup named Apollo who has been my sweet companion- going on 8 years now. He is old and loud and has many needs. He has been with me through many moves from Ohio to North Carolina to Virginia and now to Indy.
-
I love swimming and bodies of water. I grew up in southern Ohio, by a man-made lake, and I hope to one day live closer to an authentic body of water.
-
I’m almost always listening to podcasts, usually some variation of comedy/history/true crime.
